Did you know that there could be over 100 different ways to describe revenue in accounting charts, and more than 800 ways to describe expenses?

The Victorian Standard Chart of Accounts (SCOA) is a Victorian Government initiative coordinated by the Office for the Community Sector.  The Victorian SCOA will be mandatory for Victorian State Government departments and agencies for all new funding programs with not-for-profit (NFP) organisations from 1 July 2010.  The Victorian SCOA will reduce administrative burden for NFP organisations which have funding agreements with Victorian Government departments and agencies by simplifying requisite financial reporting.

The Office for the Community Sector is holding FREE training sessions throughout Victoria between mid-March and April for all Victorian NFP community organisations to explain its purpose and practical application.

Victorian Standard Chart of Accounts Training – 2 Sessions Added Due to popular demand the Office for the Community Sector is running an additional two training sessions for the Victorian Standard Chart of Accounts in April.

FREE training sessions are currently being held throughout Victoria for all Victorian NFP community organisations to explain the purpose and practical application of the Victorian Standard Chart of Accounts.

Additional training sessions will be held on the following dates:

19 April – Carlton (Arrow on Swanston, 488 Swanston St) 9am-11am

20 April – St Kilda (St Kilda Eco Centre, St Kilda Botanical Gardens, Cnr Herbert and Blessington St) 9.30am-11.30am
